- In order to fulfil service requests made through the WhatsApp platform, the Customer hereby grants the Bank an unrestricted, unconditional right of access to all of his accounts. Additionally, the Customer grants the Bank permission to share account information with any third parties in order to accept or fulfil the Customer's service requests.
- The Customer agrees to receive messages from the Bank, including promotional offers, product updates, and other important information, sent to the registered phone number via WhatsApp.
- The Customer understands that any account-related services, such as those relating to cards, loans, or other information/services, will only be delivered to WhatsApp accounts connected to Registered Customer Numbers (at the Bank's discretion).
- The Customer acknowledges that the Bank may not be able to provide entire detailed information regarding the Service or its features. The Bank shall not be liable for any consequences arising from or related to the use of this Service or the limited information provided via WhatsApp.
- Any Services that may be offered to the Customer through the WhatsApp platform is at the discretion of the Bank and/or basis the eligibility criteria of the Customer.
- By subscribing to the services provided through the WhatsApp platform, the Customer hereby consents to receive alerts regarding account information, transactional updates, and other communications via WhatsApp.
- In order to improve Bank's products and provide services to the Customer, the Customer who uses the WhatsApp facility authorizes Bank to gather and use technical information about the equipment, related software, hardware, and peripherals, as well as any data and information stored in the equipment, whether it is internet-based or wireless.
- For further information, the Customer may contact the Bank through its local branch, customer care hotline on 1800 3030, or any other communication method or channel offered by the Bank.
- Customers will receive notifications on their registered mobile number, about these terms and conditions when they first register for the WhatsApp banking service and periodically thereafter. This ensures that Customers are fully informed and aware of the rules and responsibilities associated with using the Bank's WhatsApp Banking services.
- All headings, bold typing and italics (if any) have been inserted for convenience of reference only and do not define limit or affect the meaning or interpretation of these WhatsApp Terms and Conditions.
- The usage of the Services by the Customer may be stopped, suspended, or terminated by the Bank at any time and without any prior intimation to the customer
- The Bank may halt, suspend, or cancel Services/facilities without prior notice if these Terms and Conditions are not adhered.
- In the event that the Customer unsubscribes, the Bank will cease processing the Customer’s data for the reason(s) for which the Customer first granted and cease sending the Customer WhatsApp alerts, unless otherwise authorized by law.
- It is advisable for Customers who have subscribed to WhatsApp Banking services to delete WhatsApp messages and images linked to WhatsApp Banking before changing/selling/sharing their mobile phone or device.
- The Bank will determine, at its sole discretion, the supported devices, software platforms, versions, networks, delivery strategies, and data services for the WhatsApp platform.
- The Customer acknowledges and agrees that it is their sole responsibility to periodically upgrade any software, hardware, and operating systems at their own expense to ensure compatibility and continued use of the WhatsApp Banking Services provided by the Bank.
- The Customer will be fully responsible for periodically upgrading any software, hardware, and operating systems and the Bank shall have no obligation to support the Customer's software, hardware, or operating systems. The Bank reserves the right to alter, update, or replace its own software, hardware, or operating systems at any time.
- To ensure proper functionality of the WhatsApp Banking Services, it is the Customer's responsibility to promptly update to the latest version of WhatsApp as required.
- The Bank's responses provided via WhatsApp, whether for one-way or two-way communication, are generated by back-end software designed to handle inquiries as effectively as possible. This software is continually updated to improve its performance. However, the Bank shall not be liable for any responses that the Customer may find inadequate or for any errors arising from such responses. - The terms and conditions (as amended from time to time) are applicable to the Customers who avail the Services provided by Central bank of India (“Bank”) on the WhatsApp platform.
- The WhatsApp*(Meta) Terms and Conditions for usage of WhatsApp application, shall be in addition to any other terms and conditions as stipulated by the Bank from time to time on its website (https://centralbankofindia.co.in) whether pertaining to the account or in relation to other products, services, facilities or offers provided by the Bank and availed by the Customer.
- These terms and conditions will be communicated to the Customers through the Bank’s website (https://centralbankofindia.co.in/en) to ensure transparency and accessibility.
- The Customer acknowledges that the Bank and/or its affiliates may store and handle personal data related to the Customer's account(s) electronically or otherwise in connection with the WhatsApp service, as well as for research, credit scoring, and marketing.
- The Customer agrees and gives us permission to obtain, maintain, use, and/or disclose their personal information in order to provide the Services described on our website.
- The Customer also consents to the Bank's right to disclose, in strict confidence, to other institutions, its service providers, such information as may be deemed reasonably necessary for purposes such as, but not limited to, participation in any telecommunication or electronic clearing network, in accordance with legal directives, for credit rating by reputable credit scoring agencies, and for fraud prevention.
- If Bank has cause to suspect that the Customer's orders might result in a direct or indirect loss or could need an indemnification from the Customer, Bank shall have the right to suspend the Services.
- The Customer is in charge of maintaining the security of his WhatsApp account that is connected to the mobile phone. The Customer is aware that using WhatsApp might come with additional risks.
- Additionally, there is a chance that any communication or information transferred will be read, disrupted, intercepted, or deceived by a third party. The Customer is aware that mobile phones and other electronic devices are susceptible to dangers like, but not limited to:
- Data/information access by intruders
- Identity theft
- Privacy breaches
- The introduction of stealth malware and viruses
- Operation deterioration or distortion
- Interception of encrypted data/message transfer, etc.
- Remote entry
- If the Customer finds or suspects improper access, the Customer must promptly tell the Bank in writing. The Bank disclaims all liability and responsibility for any damages incurred by the Customer or any third party as a result of utilizing this Service.
- The Customer is aware that utilizing mobile applications entails a lot of unpredictability and sophisticated software, hardware, systems, and websites, among other things, all of which are prone to disruptions.
- Bank shall not be liable for any modification, diminution, or imposition of the conditions or the Customers' incapacity to use the mobile application. Bank makes no representation or promise that the WhatsApp facility or service will be continuously accessible without interruption.
- The Customer is aware that utilizing mobile applications requires employing authorized technology and strong security precautions. Customer agrees to take precautions to make sure the password or pin is not disclosed to any unauthorized individuals or third parties, including Bank personnel.
- All communications between the Consumer and the Bank will be the full responsibility of the Customer.
- Any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, this service or for receiving any response supplied by Bank software running at the back-end are expressly disclaimed by Bank and its officials, employees, and agents.
- The Customer acknowledges that if the WhatsApp service is interrupted, suspended, not available, or malfunctions due to a connection, mobile device, or system failure on the part of the Bank, the Bank will not be liable in any way.
- Any materials or design components of this WhatsApp service may not be copied, duplicated, or redistributed for commercial gain by the Customer.
- The Bank maintains the right to remove or otherwise delete any content or contributions made by the Customer that break the rules or are inappropriate, without incurring any responsibility or providing the Customer with a warning
- The last mobile phone number registered with the Bank will get the alerts/ notifications and Whatsapp Banking Services.
- The Customer acknowledges and is aware that utilizing mobile applications requires employing authorized technologies and strong security precautions. Customer agrees to take precautions to make sure the password is kept a secret from other parties, including Bank representatives or anyone else.
- The Customer acknowledges that the current service is just an add-on and waives all claims against the Bank in the event that the service is interrupted, suspended, not available, or malfunctions due to a link, mobile device, or system failure on the part of the Bank for any reason.
- The internet connection is required for the Customer to receive messages, and the Bank is not liable for any delays or failures to receive answers on the WhatsApp channel.
- The Customer hereby acknowledges that he/she is availing the Service(s) at his own risk and the Customer shall not hold the Bank responsible or liable for any of the risks.
- The Customer acknowledges that if any third person obtains access to the Customer's Device or SIM card or the Customer’s WhatsApp, such third party may be in a position to access Customer Information including Account related information of the Customer, which may be confidential in nature.
- While the Bank shall aim to provide security to prevent the same, it cannot guarantee any safeguard from such internet frauds, hacking, phishing and other actions which could affect any instruction(s) given to the Bank for availing the Services.
- The Customer has evolved/ evaluated all risks arising out of the same. Further the Customer understands the risks of compromise of his QR code and the implications that it may have on his WhatsApp, including access by a third party to the Customer’s WhatsApp and the Services.
- The Customer is aware that he/she would be required to fill in the requisite details of the account with regard to which he/she seeks to obtain the account related details/information, In the event of any inaccuracy in this regard, the Customer acknowledges that the Customer may be sent responses or shown information which may not be applicable to him or may not be sent a satisfactory response, and the Customer agrees that in such a scenario the Bank shall not be liable for any loss to the Customer in this regard.
- Bank is providing the Services at the Customer’s sole risk. The Customer agrees that the Bank shall not be liable for any loss, damages or consequences whatsoever arising due to any erroneous or incomplete information or any delay in executing the instructions for any reasons.
- The Customer shall be liable and responsible to Bank and accede to accept the Bank's instructions without questions for any unfair or unjust gain obtained by him in the course of availing of the Services.
- Bank may require maintenance from time to time and during such time it may not be possible to process the request of the Customers. This could result in delays in the processing of instructions or failure in the processing of instructions and other such failures and inability. The Customer understands that the Bank disclaims all and any liability, whether direct or indirect, whether arising out of loss of profit or otherwise arising out of any failure or inability by the Bank to honor any Customer instruction for whatsoever reason.
- The Customer unequivocally and unconditionally understands and accepts that the Bank shall not be responsible for any of the aforesaid risks.
- The Customer also accepts that the Bank shall disclaim all liability in respect of all the aforesaid risks. Bank may provide any other Services as a part of the WhatsApp facility and Bank shall not be liable for the oversight on part of the Customer to update himself /herself with the addition of Services which have been included in the WhatsApp facility.
- The Customer agrees that he/she is responsible for the correctness and accuracy of information supplied to the Bank in the course of availing the Services. The Bank accepts no liability and responsibility for the consequences arising out of erroneous, incomplete, inaccurate, untrue information supplied by the Customer.
- The Customer agrees that all outputs of statements that may appear on WhatsApp, upon making a request to that effect, are information extracted from a computerized back up system maintained by the Bank and may not continuously be updated in real time. The Bank shall provide the information as may be last updated on the systems of the Bank.
- The Customer further agrees that he/she shall hold harmless and indemnify the Bank against any damages, losses, liabilities, settlements, costs, expenses, or fines. that may be incurred or suffered by him, if the information contained in the above said outputs turns out to be inaccurate/incorrect.
- The Customer agrees that he/she shall be liable for all loss from unauthorized uses of his WhatsApp and/or for requests made while availing the Services and/or for any breach(es) of these Terms and Conditions or if he/she has in any way contributed or caused the loss by negligent actions such as
- failing to take all reasonable steps to prevent disclosure of the Customer’s WhatsApp and/or QR code,
- Losing the SIM card on which the Customer’s WhatsApp is registered
- Transferring the SIM card on which the Customer’s WhatsApp is registered to another device without deleting the WhatsApp application from the previous device
- The Customer acknowledges that the software/ other internet related software which are required for providing the Services or any Intellectual Property Rights of the Bank in the process are the legal property of the Bank/ respective vendors.
- The Customer undertakes to indemnify and keep the Bank and its officers/employees fully indemnified and harmless from and against all the consequences of breach of any of the terms, conditions, statements, undertakings representations and warranties of these Terms and Conditions as also of any of its representations or warranties not being found to be true at any point of time, including any actions, notices, suits, claims, proceedings, damages, liabilities, losses, expenses, costs or taxes faced, suffered or incurred by the Bank including from any third parties.
- The Customer agrees that by using the Service, the One Way Communication and/or Two Way Communication, sending any communication/ message to the Bank Registered Number on WhatsApp, completing the registration process as provided for hereunder, accepting these Terms and Conditions and/or accepting the Privacy Policy, the Customer shall be deemed to have read, understood and irrevocably and unconditionally accepted and agreed to all these Terms and Conditions and such Terms and Conditions shall be binding on the Customer in the same manner as if the Customer has agreed to the same in writing.
- The permission given by the Bank to avail of the Services to the Customer will/ does not create or convey any rights, title or interest to the Customer or to any person, in the above software or Intellectual Property Rights of the Bank.
- These Terms and Conditions and/or the use of the Services provided through WhatsApp shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of India and no other nation. The Banks accepts no liability whatsoever, direct or indirect, for non-compliance with the laws of any country other than the Republic of India
